“The Diné Power Authority and its Board of Directors are excited for the Desert Rock Energy Project and the economic opportunities for the Navajo Nation and its people. The Desert Rock Energy Project is the first major project of its kind to have the Navajo Nation’s direct involvement in its development. In addition, Desert Rock is the first of its kind that provides for Navajo Nation equity investment. ”
Tim Goodluck, Navajo Nation Council Delegate and Chairman, Board of Directors, Diné Power Authority

“The Diné Power Authority is proud to be a development partner with Desert Rock Energy Company. The Desert Rock Energy Project is a great compliment to the portfolio of energy projects we are developing on behalf of the Navajo Nation and its people. ”
Steven Begay, General Manager of The Diné Power Authority

“The Nenahnezad Chapter supported the proposed Desert Rock Energy Project with a resolution because DPA and Sithe Global had obtained the consent of the directly affected permittees before requesting Chapter support, which we certainly appreciate. Chapter support was also given on the fact that the proposed power plant would have the lowest emissions of any power plant in the United States. It is important to note that current mining and power plant activities with the Nenahnezad Chapter service area contribute approximately $52 million to the Navajo Nation budget and approximately $52 million to the State of New Mexico. In addition, these activities create hundreds of jobs for the Navajo Nation and surrounding areas. We look forward to strengthening our relationship with Desert Rock Energy Project in the future."
Lucinda Yellowman Bennalley, President of the Nenahnezad Chapter
